We Are Here

A diverse spectrum of “family”, bound by blood and not,

representing all shades of color in celebration and unity; 

365 days a year, 24 hours a day, and 7 days a week;

We are here;

Forces old and clad in angry habits of righteousness, condemn my life, and who I choose to love;

Governmentally politicized and medically deprived, we were forced to Act Up.  

Voices young and inexperienced in life’s journey, are demanding change now, while ignoring the lost souls of a time then.

A place of brick and mortar is now a “Stone Wall” monument and genesis to the start of a movement.  

We are here;

Often enduring ridicule, stereotype, and being a victim of violence, our community rallies onward. 

From Lesbian, Trans, Dykes on Bikes, Drag Queens, Muscle Daddy Bears, Two-spirit, gay, and Bi, 

there is something for everyone.   

For this is Pride, a yearly spectacle of parades, sequins, and waving rainbow flags letting the world around us know that… we are here.
